  4. We believe in prayer – prayer helps us deal with the struggles of life, prayer helps us love one another, prayer addresses the Soveriegn God of the universe with hope expecting His grace to shine forth.

Our history

Presbyterianism in Stayner began long before the existing building  was erected.  The earliest worshipers met in a very rough building with fallen logs serving as seats.

On November 24, 1859 the congregation was formally organized by the Presbytery of Toronto and was a joint venture with Duntroon.  In 1872, Duntroon  was reconfigured, and Zion Presbyterian, Sunnidale Corners became part of the pastorate. Later East Nottawasaga joined the charge until the 1970s (when, some time in the mid-to-late 70s, services ceased).  The East Nottawasaga building remained part of the charge.  An annual worship service was held there until 2011.  In  2022, after considerable wear and tear was evaluated, and mindful that there were serious safety issues as the back wall was buckled and bricks continued to fall off the building – it was demolished.

In 2019, as culture continued to shift, the reality that we are not a horse and buggy world anymore became apparent.  The time of two full churches 7km apart had ended.  Zion, Sunnidale Corners sucessfully amalgamated with Jubilee.

Jubilee Presbyterian Church is a proud part of the Presbyterian Church in Canada and is connected to the the Presbytery of Barrie.

We are a church within the Reformed Tradition with appreciation for the work of Knox, Calvin and Luther, as well as some of their living contemporaries.

Worship service have a traditional, liturgical feel with Biblical messages in a expository (exposing the truth of the Word of God) style, presented by the Rev. Darren May who has been with the congregation since 2006.
